Certified Hand Therapist
Definition
An occupational or physical therapist who has earned the Certified Hand Therapist credential in the rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity: the fingers, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Early in his career Chuck Renner specialized in upper-extremity rehabilitation and was among the first group of therapists to earn the CHT credential. He still makes custom splints, fitted to the person rather than mass-produced.
